WHAT IS A FAST?
Simply stated, Biblical fasting is refraining from food for a spiritual purpose.
WHY SHOULD I FAST?
Fasting allows us to bring our flesh, our bodies, under our control. It opens doors of healing and miracles, releases an unhindered touch of God in our lives, and allows Him to make possible the dreams and destinies inside of us. It satisfies our need of a fresh encounter, opens up a deeper, more intense and intimate relationship with the Lord. It heightens our sensitivity to the desires of God. It allows us to break away from bondages that have been holding us hostage. It permits greater focus as we pray for friends and loved ones who need salvation. It allows us to see God’s will for our lives more clearly.
HOW ARE WE FASTING AS A CHURCH?
Under the direction of our Lead Pastor, we are setting aside 21 days to fast and pray, both individually and corporately, for OVERFLOW in this ministry, and our own personal lives.
Scripture: 1 John 2:15-19
Personal Prayer Focus: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you any and all worldliness that may be in you. Repent and ask Him to fill those places with more of Jesus.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “that God will open doors for us around the whole world to sow, grow, & go with life change for Jesus Christ”

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask God to show you any and all distractions in your life. Ask Him to help you remove them.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “that God’s people would be empowered to impact our areas of influence with life change for Jesus Christ”

Scripture: 1 John 4:1
Personal Prayer Focus: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any and all deceptions that may be in your life or coming against your mind. Ask Him to forgive you for allowing any of these to be considered the truth.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “that this ministry would be blessed to be a blessing”

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any and all selfishness in thought, deed, time, talent or treasure. Repent of it and make a fresh commitment to the Lord in every area.

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask God to forgive you of any and all pride. Repent of the pride you know of and that which you don’t know of. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to stay humble.

Scripture: Proverbs 17:9
Personal Prayer Focus: Ask God to forgive you of any and all offence you may have in your heart towards any one, any organization, or anything. Repent of all bitterness, anger, hatred, or malice. Ask the Holy Spirit to pull up any root of bitterness that may be in the soil of your heart.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “that we would be a progressive church”

Scripture: Matthew 6:14-15, Deuteronomy 29:18-21
Personal Prayer Focus: Ask God to show you any unforgiveness that you may hold against anyone in the world or in the church. Repent of the unforgiveness and forgive all who have hurt you. Ask God to forgive them and to bless them. Tell the Holy Spirit that you officially release them into the hands of God.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “that we would be a prosperous church”

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask the Holy Spirit to increase your spiritual thirst for Jesus. Confess that you are thirsty and that you don’t want to drink of worldly waters that will not satisfy. Ask Him to pour out the waters of heaven into your life.

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask the Holy Spirit to increase your spiritual hunger for Jesus and the things of the kingdom. Confess that you need fresh bread and that the stale bread of this world will not do. Ask Him to give you fresh heavenly bread today.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “that we would be a people driven church”

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask God to help you rid your life of any wasteful living or idol living. Ask Jesus to fill you with His spirit so much that every thought, deed, feeling, word, or action is from Him.

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to increase your love for God. Ask Him to fill you with His deep love so that you love Him at a deeper level. Confess to the Lord that you want to be in love with Him.

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with the love of Jesus in such as way that you love one another as you love yourself. Be honest with the Spirit and let him know that this can be tough for you at times so you are in need of His help. This will draw Him to fill you with more love than you have ever had.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “for the Youth Ministries of this church”

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask the Holy Spirit to quicken you and to help you to draw closer to God today. Ask Him to remind you to pray, praise and be persistent in drawing near unto the Lord. Allow Him to take this discipline from being what you do to who you are.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “for the Adult Ministries of this church”

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask the Holy Spirit to manifest the presence of God in, through and upon your life today. Tell the Lord that you need His manifested presence and you want His manifested presence. And for moments throughout the day where His presence comes so powerfully that you weep before Him.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “for the Outreach Ministries of this church”

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask God for a deep and continuous communion with the Holy Spirit. Let the Holy Spirit know that you desire this fellowship with Him and you desire to know what He rejoices in and what grieves Him. Ask Him to help you to guard this communion with all you have.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “for the Compassion Ministries of this church”

Corporate Prayer Focus: As the Holy Spirit for an increased anointing in and upon your life. Let Him know that you desire to live in an anointing that one can only swim in. Commit to protecting and cherishing that anointing that only He can give.
Personal Prayer Focus: “for our Ministries, and World-wide Missions efforts”

Personal Prayer Focus: As the Holy Spirit for a fresh Fire from Heaven. Ask Him for a fire that purges you, releases the prophetic to you, pours out the power through you, and provokes in you the holiness of God.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “for God’s people to become disciples & make disciples”

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask the Lord to pour out His Spirit upon you in such a way that it releases dreams, visions, and prophetic words of life for such a time as this. Commit your body as a vessel to Him and let Him know you are willing to be His mighty servant in these last days.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “for explosive growth in this ministry”

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask God to enlighten the eyes of your understanding today that you can see what He sees today. Ask Him to give you eyes into the spirit realm so that you may know and understand the battle happening over you and around you.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “for invisible barriers to be removed”

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask the Lord to help you to put into action the faith that has been given to you. Ask Him for an increased boldness to use this faith and that as He sees fit, to increase this measure of faith for His name’s sake.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “for strongholds to be broken”

Personal Prayer Focus: Ask the Lord to fill you with all of the fullness of God. Ask Him to forgive you for any small thinking or belief, and to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we could ask or even think. Thank Him for the overflow and give Him praise that this will never stop in your life.
Corporate Prayer Focus: “for the strongman to be bound”
