The Holy Spirit || Part 10
The Holy Spirit || Part 10, Day 3
Luke 3:15-17 NKJV
Now as the people were in expectation, and all reasoned in their hearts about John, whether he was the Christ or not, John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather the wheat into His barn; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire.”
Acts 2:1-4 NKJV
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
I Corinthians 12:1-11 NKJV
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
You may say, “I thought the gifts of the Spirit are to edify the body of Christ.” That is correct. When souls are being saved and delivered and the church is growing, the body is being edified. When the church sees someone that they have been praying and believing to be born again and that person gets saved, it will edify the body.
When someone tries to come into the church and divide it or cause problems, the gifts of the Spirit reveal that person, it edifies the body. I’ve never seen any healthy Christian get depressed because the church was unified. I’ve never seen any healthy Christian get upset and stop serving the Lord because the church isn’t divided. However, on the other hand I’ve seen many people hurt and some even destroyed over church splits. I’ve seen many torn apart over Jezebels that were allowed to operate in the church.
When the full Gospel is preached then signs and wonders and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are in operation, the harvest comes in a mighty way.
Let’s pray together…
