Get Back on Your Feet!
Get Back On Your Feet || Day 5
Deuteronomy 11:22-28 NKJV
“For if you carefully keep all these commandments which I command you to do—to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him— then the Lord will drive out all these nations from before you, and you will dispossess greater and mightier nations than yourselves. Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the River Euphrates, even to the Western Sea, shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand against you; the Lord your God will put the dread of you and the fear of you upon all the land where you tread, just as He has said to you. “Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today; and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known.”
Joshua 1:1-3 NKJV
After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.”
Psalms 68:20-23 NKJV
Our God is the God of salvation; And to God the Lord belong escapes from death. But God will wound the head of His enemies, The hairy scalp of the one who still goes on in his trespasses. The Lord said, “I will bring back from Bashan, I will bring them back from the depths of the sea, That your foot may crush them in blood, And the tongues of your dogs may have their portion from your enemies.”
Romans 16:20 NKJV
And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
I wish I had time today to tell you all about Mephibosheth.
I wish I had the time to tell you about how his childhood became traumatized before his 6th birthday. I wish I time to tell you about how his family was falling apart, and how, through no fault of his own, someone who was entrusted to protect him, dropped him.
II Samuel 4:4 NKJV
Jonathan, Saul’s son, had a son who was lame in his feet. He was five years old when the news about Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel; and his nurse took him up and fled. And it happened, as she made haste to flee, that he fell and became lame. His name was Mephibosheth.
I wish I had the time to tell you that, when it looked like he would spend his life stuck in the cycle of trauma, living with the decisions that others had made about his life, that one day he found his seat at the king’s table, because of a covenant that was made before he was ever born!
I wish I had time to tell you about the man at the Beautiful Gate who was put down…
I wish I had time to tell about how he was born with feet that did him no good. How every day he had to rely on people to put him down somewhere so he could beg for whatever he could get to survive.
I wish I had the time to tell you about how he spent his days, watching people walk into a place that his heart wanted to go, but was stuck outside of. I wish I could tell you about how he had to stare at his lack and disability while hearing people behind him in the Temple touching heaven with their prayers.
I wish I had time to tell you about how two men came who forgot to put change in their pockets but came armed with life change for this man who was stuck outside at the gate.
Acts 3:6-9 NKJV
Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God.
Whatever has you off of your feet today, I’ve come to tell you that it can only keep you down if you choose to be kept down.
I don’t care if you’ve been sat down, worn down, dropped down, or put down. You may have been smacked down, backed down, cracked down, packed down, hacked down, or whacked down. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been beaten down, cheated down, or depleted down. You may have been knocked down, blocked down, rocked down, or socked down. As a child of this Kingdom, you can’t be kept down!
I’ve decided something…
I won’t live my life jammed up, canned up, or clammed up. If the devil tries to knock me over, I’m going to land up. Because I have made the decision today, I’m going to stand up!
Your feet have purpose!
There’s destiny in your tread. There’s possession in your tread. There’s victory in your tread. Your footprints are unique. Your steps are ordered. The pathway might be narrow, but it leads to life. Not the low-rent, half-baked, counterfeit version of the life you’ve been “living”. I’m talking about real, full, abundant life, that counts for something in this world! The kind of life that never ends, because it’s lived with eternity in mind. Get back on your feet and GO!
Let’s pray…
