Unshakable: Part 1
Unshakable: Part 1 || Day 4
Psalm 101:1-8 NLT
"I will sing of your love and justice, Lord. I will praise you with songs. I will be careful to live a blameless life— when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them. I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride. I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me. I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence. My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the Lord from their grip."
Unshakable people guard their gates and examine their relationships and associations.
Verses 3-5 of Psalm 101 says, “I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them. I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.”
The three gates the Bible tells us about are the eye gate, the ear gate, and the mouth gate. The eyes and ears let things in, and the mouth lets things out. The eyes and ears create a reservoir in the heart. The mouth then pulls from that reservoir and creates our future.
Proverbs 4:20-22 says, “My son, give attention to my words; incline your EAR to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your EYES; keep them in the midst of your HEART; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.”
Matthew 6:22-24 says, “The eye is the lamp of the body. You draw light into your body through your eyes, and light shines out to the world through your eyes. So, if your eye is well and shows you what is true, then your whole body will be filled with light. But if your eye is clouded or evil, then your body will be filled with evil and dark clouds. And the darkness that takes over the body of a child of God who has gone astray—that is the deepest, darkness there is.”
Church, to be unshakable when things are being shaken, we have to guard what comes in through our gates. When we guard what comes in, then we can control what comes out.
