Crossing Over || Day 3

Joshua‬ 1‬:1‬-9‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Romans‬ 13‬:11‬-14‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

Change the way you walk and know your next step has purpose.

Preacher, what are you taking about? Some of us need to change the way we walk. For forty years the children of Israel walked around the same mountain over and over. In other words, for forty years all they knew was a meaningless walk. All they knew was one step forward and three steps back. All they knew was living without a destiny.

Can you imagine what it must be like to know that your tomorrow has no purpose to it. No matter how far you walk or how hard you try, your steps have no destiny connected to them. This is exactly what they have lived through over the past forty years.

But now they stand at the Jordan River and God is giving them an opportunity to change the way they walk. He is giving them the opportunity to change their walk from meaningless steps into purposeful treading. Now you are no longer walking to fulfill time, but now your steps are fulfilling destiny and prophecy.

I want to prophesy over some people today that felt like 2023 was a year of meaningless walking. You felt like every place you stepped into you were spinning your wheels. And if you did get traction it seemed to go nowhere. Today if you change your walk from FEAR to FAITH you will go from meaningless walking to purposeful treading.

If you can change your walk today, in 2024 every step you take will have purpose to it. This year every step you take will have promise to it. Every step you take will have destiny to it. Every step you take this year, will have ownership to it.

Psalm 37:23-24, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.”

Get ready because your walk is changing today! We are changing the way we walk today. It’s changing from walking in fear to walking in faith! When you walk in fear you are always fearing the worst. You are expecting the worst. When you walk in faith you are expecting God’s best! You are looking for God’s best! You are speaking God’s best!

Pray with me…
