It's Time to Come Up: Part 1
It’s Time to Come UP!
Part 1 || Day 4
Proverbs 13:22 NKJV
A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.
Ecclesiastes 2:26 NKJV
For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting, that he may give to him who is good before God. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.
II Corinthians 8:9 NKJV
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.
In Genesis 26:1-16, Isaac sowed and reaped a 100-fold in a land that wouldn’t produce for the Philistines.
It is important for us to understand that Isaac was sowing in a time of famine. This time, God tells Isaac, “Do not go down to Egypt.” Why does he tell Isaac that? I’m sure that Isaac had conversations with Abraham from time to time, and Abraham would tell him how God transferred the wealth of Egypt into his hands. I’m pretty sure Abraham told him it was in a time of famine.
So, Isaac is planning on doing the same thing. He knows the blessing of the covenant is on his life. He knows that because of that covenant he can go anywhere, and the blessing will overtake him. So, he is about to travel into Egypt to receive another wealth transfer. But this time, God tells him, “Do not go to Egypt. I have another wealth transfer in mind. This time I want you to stay in the land, and I am going to transfer the wealth of the Philistines into your hand.”
God allows the Philistines to be severely affected by the famine in the land. The same famine that is BREAKING them, is BLESSING Isaac. How can this be?
Isaac would go and plant in the land, and because of the blessing of the Lord, it would produce a 100-fold. The Philistines would go and plant in the land and it would produce nothing. Because of his father’s wells, Isaac had plenty of water to pour on his produce and to give to his livestock. They had no wells and were having to live off of the water that flowed in the streams. After a while, that water dried up.
Now they have to come and buy water from Isaac. After their money runs out, now they have to give their livestock up so they can have water for other livestock and produce. Meanwhile, the land is producing nothing for them and is producing a 100-fold for Isaac.
After a little while of this going on, Isaac has now gained all the wealth of the Philistines. As a matter of fact, he gained so much that they deported him. The leader of the Philistines comes in, and asks him to leave their land, because he has gained all of their wealth, and he is much mightier than they are.
Therefore, Isaac goes into a different land and starts re-digging the wells of his father Abraham. The Philistines had covered the wells up after the death of Abraham. The problem is, the people of that land came and said that the well belongs to them after he dug it up. So, he moves to a different place and re-digs another well. And they came and fought him over that one and he left again. Then he came and dug another well, built an altar there, and God appeared to him that night.
The Lord tells him that night, “I am the God of your father Abraham, do not fear for I am with you. I will bless you and multiply your descendants for my servant, Abraham’s sake.” Church, what I’m telling you is, it didn’t matter where they moved Isaac to. Because of the covenant that he had with the Most High God, the wealth and resources of that land was coming to him.
Don’t get upset when jealous people ask you to leave. Don’t get upset when greedy people say you have to go. As a matter of fact, you better get used to it. Because the blessing in the covenant of our God will cause the wealth transfer to come to you in every place you put your feet.
Pray with me…
