What's Really Going On?
What’s Really Going On? || Day 5 - Satan’s Next Attack on Prophetic Manifestation
2 Timothy 3:1-17 NLT
"You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! They are the kind who work their way into people’s homes and win the confidence of vulnerable women who are burdened with the guilt of sin and controlled by various desires. (Such women are forever following new teachings, but they are never able to understand the truth.) These teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith. But they won’t get away with this for long. Someday everyone will recognize what fools they are, just as with Jannes and Jambres. But you, Timothy, certainly know what I teach, and how I live, and what my purpose in life is. You know my faith, my patience, my love, and my endurance. You know how much persecution and suffering I have endured. You know all about how I was persecuted in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra—but the Lord rescued me from all of it. Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived. But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work."
In the previous two devotions, we have been exposing the the cyclical attacks of Satan against the prophetic manifestations in the life of people of God. Today, we will talk about the third method he uses against the church.
His third attack is against the finances of the church.
This doesn’t always mean that finances are low or in trouble. It can also mean a demonic attack against the teaching and preaching on giving. This is an attempt to deplete the church of resources so it can no longer reach the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ! It’s also an attempt to make God appear as a taker and not a giver.
This is where we are right now in the body of Christ. We have been talking of a wealth transfer that is coming and even happening right now. Many pastors and church leaders have released great responses to the recent erroneous teaching a prominent Atlanta pastor put out weeks ago. We have not needed to respond because God had us responding before it ever happened. For the first part of this year and the last part of last year we preached and taught on giving. When you walk in the Spirit you don’t have to play catch up. The devil has to play catch up!
Every major move of God in the Bible and in history has always been preceded by or accompanied by the sacrificial giving of the church. Now you understand why the enemy is trying to deceive so many people in this area. It has nothing to do with money! It has to do with souls and a nationwide revival!
Church, not only are we going to receive a major wealth transfer, but we will lead this nation into one of the greatest revivals ever known to man. We refuse to lean on our own understanding. Instead, we will acknowledge God in all our ways, and He will lead us into a nationwide revival!
Pray this with me: Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I declare openly my need for Your guidance. I position myself today in covenant in my giving. I will be obedient in the tithe, generous in the offering, and faithful in the seed. I position myself for the wealth transfer being released on Your church. I commit to use it to finance the Kingdom of God, and to finance national revival. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
