“Jesus The…” || Part 2, Day 1

Colossians‬ 2‬:4‬-9‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;

Colossians‬ 1‬:15‬-18‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.

John‬ 18‬:28‬-37‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium, and it was early morning. But they themselves did not go into the Praetorium, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover. Pilate then went out to them and said, “What accusation do you bring against this Man?” They answered and said to him, “If He were not an evildoer, we would not have delivered Him up to you.” Then Pilate said to them, “You take Him and judge Him according to your law.” Therefore the Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,” that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled which He spoke, signifying by what death He would die. Then Pilate entered the Praetorium again, called Jesus, and said to Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” Jesus answered him, “Are you speaking for yourself about this, or did others tell you this concerning Me?” Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?” Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.” Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

In our present day and time when you say the name Jesus you receive a broad spectrum of feelings and responses. In some settings I’m sure you would hear some say He was a lunatic. In some settings you would hear He was a good man that did a lot of good things in the earth. In some settings I’m sure you would hear He is a way to heaven. If you were to venture into other circles you would hear He was a prophet.

Within the Christian circles you would hear He is the Savior of the world. In others they would tell you He is the Lamb of God. In other circles you would hear He is the Word. In others you would hear He is the miracle worker. In other circles you would hear He is love. In some you would hear He is the judge of the living and the dead.

Within these Christian circles all those responses are correct. He was and is all of that and more. But beloved, one thing that isn’t preached about or taught about a lot within Christian circles today is that Jesus is THE KING. As a matter of fact the Bible says in 1 Timothy 6:15, “He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.”

In Revelation 17:14 it says, “These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”
