Crossing Over || Part 4
Crossing Over || Part 4, Day 5
Joshua 1:1-11 NKJV
After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, “Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.’”
(Possess)
Crossing over requires us to fully embrace the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:13-16 (NLT), “When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them, and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For, who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach Him? But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.”
In other words, when the Lord speaks to us, we can’t receive that word with worldly wisdom and fleshly understanding. Otherwise, we will talk ourselves out of walking in what He has said to us. The Bible tells us that the natural man thinks the things of the Spirit are foolishness because these things are spiritually discerned.
Allow me to put this within the context of what I’m saying today. If you are operating according to the natural man and his wisdom, you don’t feel good when God says, “Go and possess the land.”
Why? Because the word of the Lord is not naturally discerned. It’s spiritually discerned.
Therefore, the natural mind will immediately start to think of all the reasons why possessing the land is impossible. It will immediately start to resist what the Spirit is saying because deep down inside it thinks it’s foolish. The natural mind wants to talk about how big the enemies are in the Promised Land. It wants to exaggerate the obstacles and opposition while minimizing the miracle working power of God.
Church, when Joshua tells them to prepare to cross over, there is not one discussion of the opposition. We have no record of any discussion of the enemies they will face. All they know is God told us to do it and therefore everything will be great for us.
We have already released many prophetic words and declarations over this house and over your houses this year. We have decreed this is the year of victory and advancement. And today I’m telling you, we will possess the land. But this word is not received in your natural mind or according to the natural man.
This word is spiritually discerned and walked out in faith.
Over the past days we have been decreeing and declaring many things over this house and over your houses. Today we are going to finish this devotion with a prophetic declaration over this house and over your houses. 2024 is the year that we will possess the land. It’s time to cross over!
Let’s pray…
