“Jesus The…” || Part 2, Day 3

Colossians‬ 2‬:4‬-9‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;

Colossians‬ 1‬:15‬-18‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.

John‬ 18‬:28‬-37‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium, and it was early morning. But they themselves did not go into the Praetorium, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover. Pilate then went out to them and said, “What accusation do you bring against this Man?” They answered and said to him, “If He were not an evildoer, we would not have delivered Him up to you.” Then Pilate said to them, “You take Him and judge Him according to your law.” Therefore the Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,” that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled which He spoke, signifying by what death He would die. Then Pilate entered the Praetorium again, called Jesus, and said to Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” Jesus answered him, “Are you speaking for yourself about this, or did others tell you this concerning Me?” Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?” Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.” Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

What does it mean when we say King Jesus? What does it mean that He is the King of all Kings?

Jesus the King means that He has a kingdom.

Church, when we say the kingdom of God, I want you to understand what I’m saying. I’m not talking about the kingdom of heaven. The kingdom of heaven is a place. It has gold streets and mansions. It has angels and all of the saints that have gone home before us. It is a place where there is no sin, sickness, or death.

The Kingdom of God is not a place, it is a way of doing things. It is the modus-operandi of the King of the kingdom. If you travel the world you will begin to pick up on the way people act and behave that will let you know what part of the world they are from. Their actions, the way they talk, and the way they behave will let you know what kingdom they belong to.

This is one of the reasons the Bible tells us in Romans 12:1-2, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Why is the Bible telling us this? One of the reasons is so you can learn how to act, think, talk, and behave in the kingdom of God. Beloved when we were born again, we were saved out of the kingdom of Satan. Yes, the devil has a kingdom. Jesus tells us that in Matthew 12.

When we were born again, we were saved out of that kingdom and transferred onto the Kingdom of God. (Colossians 1:13). When we were in the devil’s kingdom, we acted a certain way. We talked a certain way. We believed a certain way. We behaved a certain way. All of these things expressed which kingdom we belonged to.

When we were born again and transferred into the Kingdom of God, we now have a different modus operandi. We now have a different way of doing things. Matthew chapters 5-7 are what we call the Beatitudes or the Sermon on the Mount. When you read these verses, you will see what Jesus is. He is not preaching a message as much as He is imparting a way of thinking, talking, believing, behaving, and living.

He is imparting the thoughts and expectations of the King. Church, I don’t get to say how things go in the Kingdom of God. You don’t get to say how things operate in the Kingdom of God. The government doesn’t get to say how things function in the Kingdom of God. We don’t act, believe, pray, and talk like we do because it’s a good way. We do it because it’s THE KING’S WAY!

I don’t stand up for righteousness and holiness because it’s a good way; I do it because it’s the King’s way! I don’t stand up for biblical marriage because it’s a good way; I do it because it’s the King’s way! I don’t give to the kingdom because it’s a good way; I do it because it’s the King’s way! I don’t lay hands on the sick because it’s a good way; I do it because it’s the King’s way! A King has a kingdom!
