Build It || Part 3, Day 4

Matthew‬ 16‬:13‬-19‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Luke‬ 19‬:13‬ KJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

God, if we stink it up and sin, and we turn to you in prayer, hear us!

If we forget that what we have is a gift from you and we squander it away, hear us.

If we neglect your altar; If we get off course, but we find our way back to the altar, hear us.

But God, we know that prayer is more than when we’ve sinned. We really need to talk to you about everything. Hear us!

When the task is great, and we know we’re not up to it, but we know You’ve called us to it, we will need Your strength and wisdom; Hear us.

When there’s captivity to return from, enemies to take down, and territory to take, we need for Your mighty hand and your outstretched arm to intervene; Hear us!

Oh God, hear us from heaven…

God, we have souls to win, nations to disciple, sick to heal, dead to raise, lepers to cleanse, devils to cast out, believers to empower, prophecies to fulfill, cities to take back, generations to raise up, brokenness to mend, captives to set free, the gospel to proclaim, perishing to rescue, and a remnant to gather. Hear us from heaven!

We have addiction to break, depression to break, sin to break, infirmity to break, cycles to break, ignorance to break, religion to break, poverty to break, and racism to break. Hear us from heaven!

We have churches to build, marriages to build, families to build, ministries to build, businesses to build, schools to build, and government to build. Hear us from heaven!

II Chronicles 6:38-40 NKJV

“and when they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have been carried captive, and pray toward their land which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen, and toward the temple which I have built for Your name: then hear from heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive Your people who have sinned against You. Now, my God, I pray, let Your eyes be open and let Your ears be attentive to the prayer made in this place.”

Solomon saw the house of God the same way Jesus saw it, as a house of prayer. Not ceremonial prayer. Not token prayer. A place of true spiritual prayer. The starting place for literally everything is prayer.

Pray with me…
