God Ain't Done Yet || Part 8
God Ain't Done Yet || Part 8 - Day 2
I Corinthians 1:25-29 NKJV
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.
Judges 6:1-16 NKJV
Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. So the Lord delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years, and the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of the Midianites, the children of Israel made for themselves the dens, the caves, and the strongholds which are in the mountains. So it was, whenever Israel had sown, Midianites would come up; also Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them. Then they would encamp against them and destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor donkey. For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, coming in as numerous as locusts; both they and their camels were without number; and they would enter the land to destroy it. So Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord. And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried out to the Lord because of the Midianites, that the Lord sent a prophet to the children of Israel, who said to them, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘I brought you up from Egypt and brought you out of the house of bondage; and I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of all who oppressed you, and drove them out before you and gave you their land. Also I said to you, “I am the Lord your God; do not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.” But you have not obeyed My voice.’ ” Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites. And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” Gideon said to Him, “O my Lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.” Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?” So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.”
In the story of Gideon, once the children of Israel cry out to God, He brings deliverance very fast. Literally one day the whole nation is in rebellion to God and worshiping Baal and other idols. Once Gideon encounters God, within 24 hours, the altars they had been worshiping at for years were torn down. God began to change the course of a whole nation in 24 hours.
Not only were the idolatrous altars torn down, but in their place the altar of the Lord was rebuilt. What was once a place of REBELLION has now become a place of REVIVAL! What was once a place of wickedness had now become a place of holy worship. What was once a place of shackles had now become a place of sanctification and surrender.
I want to stop right there and tell some people, today, God wants to move fast in your life and minister freedom and deliverance to you. Yes, you may have been addicted for years. Yes, you may have been tormented for years; and yes, you may have been backslidden for years. But if you cry out to God today, He will move very fast in your life and within moments everything can change.
The Spirit of God comes upon Gideon, and he gathers many from Israel to go to battle. God gives him a plan to get this army down to 300 men. This way, when the war is over, God will get the victory. We are still within days of Gideon encountering the Lord and being anointed to lead the Israelites into victory.
Once Gideon has his 300 men together, God is ready to move. However, Gideon is still a little hesitant. God tells him, “If you need something to boost your faith, take your servant and go down to the camp of the enemy and listen to what they are saying.”
Once Gideon hears what they are saying and that they are fearful of them, he goes back up to the men and attacks the enemy. And in one day, the enemy that had been harassing and tormenting them was completely defeated. God moved fast!
Church, the Israelites were being killed, they were being stolen from, and they were being destroyed. God shows up and meets with one person and within days of that encounter, they have now become free. They no longer had to hide and run in fear. They no longer had to live defeated lives. Once they cried out, God moved FAST!
Beloved, the anointing and the grace that was on Gideon is falling on the church of Jesus Christ right now. It is the anointing to cry out to God and watch Him move fast!
Let’s pray together…
