Marked By God: Part 3
Marked By God: Part 3 || Day 5
Mark 1:1-8 NKJV
The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. As it is written in the Prophets: “Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You.” “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.’ ” John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. Then all the land of Judea, and those from Jerusalem, went out to him and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins. Now John was clothed with camel’s hair and with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. And he preached, saying, “There comes One after me who is mightier than I, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loose. I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
The fourth and final thing we will point out from the marked life of John is this: People who are marked by God don’t mind dwelling at a different address.
“Come out from among them and be separate.” We are not dwelling with the rest of the mainstream Christianity.
John was not in the city. He was not in the best location for his church. He was in the middle of nowhere. And the Lord was bringing people from all over to his church.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Ephesians 2:6 says, “For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.”
Luke 24:5-6 says, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen!”
Church, if you have been born again you are seated with Christ in heavenly places. This means your address has changed and you are no longer in the graveyard. But for some today, if we went looking for you among the tombs, we would find you there. You are still dead in your trespasses. But today your address can change!
