Unity: The Secret to Victory || Part 2 - Day 1

Psalms‬ 133‬:1‬-3‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.

I Corinthians‬ 1‬:10‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬

Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Matthew‬ 18‬:18‬-22‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬

“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”

Unity causes you to build the impossible.

Unity causes you to believe for the impossible.

In Joshua chapter 6, we read about the children of Israel conquering their first city in the Promised Land. The city is called Jericho, and it was known for having walls that could not be penetrated. No one had ever penetrated or brought down the walls of Jericho. We read in chapter six how the children of Israel walked around the walls one time a day for six days and said nothing, and then on the seventh day they walked around the wall seven times and then shouted and blew the trumpets.

When they obeyed the Lord and shouted and blew the trumpets, the Bible says the walls of Jericho came falling down. The only people that were spared out of the whole city were Rahab, and her family. Everyone else was destroyed at the command of the Lord. How did a group of ragtag wilderness dwellers defeat such a great city like Jericho?

Even more, what caused this group of people to BELIEVE that they would defeat such a fortified city? What caused them to believe that obeying the command of the Lord through Joshua would actually work? What made them believe that they would be able to accomplish what others could not accomplish? UNITY!

When they got back to their camps that evening you could hear their conversations; “Does anyone know why we are walking around this city and not speaking?” “No, we don’t but we believe that God will give us the victory.” Then that person starts believing that somehow, some way, on the seventh day God will give us the victory. Before you know it that type of unity is spreading like wildfire throughout that camp of Israel.

Let’s pray together…
