Mary Did You Know?: Part 1 || Day 3

Exodus 15:1-21 NLT

Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord: “I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; he has hurled both horse and rider into the sea. The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him! The Lord is a warrior; Yahweh is his name! Pharaoh’s chariots and army he has hurled into the sea. The finest of Pharaoh’s officers are drowned in the Red Sea. The deep waters gushed over them; they sank to the bottom like a stone. “Your right hand, O Lord, is glorious in power. Your right hand, O Lord, smashes the enemy. In the greatness of your majesty, you overthrow those who rise against you. You unleash your blazing fury; it consumes them like straw. At the blast of your breath, the waters piled up! The surging waters stood straight like a wall; in the heart of the sea the deep waters became hard. “The enemy boasted, ‘I will chase them and catch up with them. I will plunder them and consume them. I will flash my sword; my powerful hand will destroy them.’ But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters. “Who is like you among the gods, O Lord— glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, performing great wonders? You raised your right hand, and the earth swallowed our enemies. “With your unfailing love you lead the people you have redeemed. In your might, you guide them to your sacred home. The peoples hear and tremble; anguish grips those who live in Philistia. The leaders of Edom are terrified; the nobles of Moab tremble. All who live in Canaan melt away; terror and dread fall upon them. The power of your arm makes them lifeless as stone until your people pass by, O Lord, until the people you purchased pass by. You will bring them in and plant them on your own mountain— the place, O Lord, reserved for your own dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, that your hands have established. The Lord will reign forever and ever!” When Pharaoh’s horses, chariots, and charioteers rushed into the sea, the Lord brought the water crashing down on them. But the people of Israel had walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground! Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine and led all the women as they played their tambourines and danced. And Miriam sang this song: “Sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; he has hurled both horse and rider into the sea.”

Miriam and the children of Israel gave God praise for what He did for them. Church, what they were praising God for is what we are going to be praising God for. There are things that they gave God praise for that day that must be brought to our attention.

Number one is obvious. They praised Him for making a way where there was no way!

The Bible tells us in Exodus 14 that the Egyptians pursued the Israelites until they had their backs up against the Red Sea. This wasn’t just the regular army either. This was Pharaoh and all of Egypt’s chariots coming to wipe them out. There was nowhere to go. They were not battle ready to even think about taking them on. They had been slaves for hundreds of years. They had no weapons and no training.

God told them to leave Egypt and now the enemy wanted to kill them. Church that’s just like the devil. When God tells you to do something he comes trying to do whatever he can to stop you. But for some reason the devil hasn’t learned anything. Because when God tells you to do something that means the battle is never yours. It is the Lord’s!

Church, I believe this is the time when God will begin to open supernatural provision for the church. He will begin to make ways for the church, where there is no way. I believe that in this next season things are going to happen for this ministry that will be as mind-blowing as the Red Sea parting for the children of Israel.

Today there are some of you in hard places. You are in some positions of pain and problems that you can’t see your way out of. There are some of you in places where literally there is no way out of them. But today I declare a way where there is no way over you and yours. I speak that, by the breath of God, the sea will part and God will make a way for you.

He tells Moses, “What are you crying out to me for? Raise up your staff and tell that sea to part.” And Moses raised up his staff and sea parted, and they crossed over on dry land. Jesus said when you see a mountain, an impossible situation in your life…

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” (Mark 11:23)

Church, as we step into this time of supernatural ways being made by the Lord for our good, don’t hesitate to speak to the mountains in your life. Don’t hesitate to hold up the staff of the Lord and watch the sea part. Don’t be afraid to step out and see the hand of the Lord show up on your behalf. Mary did you know that God is making a path for you? God is making a way for you where there is no way.
