God Ain't Done Yet || Part 9, Day 1

Judges‬ 6‬:1‬-16‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬

Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. So the Lord delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years, and the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of the Midianites, the children of Israel made for themselves the dens, the caves, and the strongholds which are in the mountains. So it was, whenever Israel had sown, Midianites would come up; also Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them. Then they would encamp against them and destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor donkey. For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, coming in as numerous as locusts; both they and their camels were without number; and they would enter the land to destroy it. So Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord. And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried out to the Lord because of the Midianites, that the Lord sent a prophet to the children of Israel, who said to them, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘I brought you up from Egypt and brought you out of the house of bondage; and I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of all who oppressed you, and drove them out before you and gave you their land. Also I said to you, “I am the Lord your God; do not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.” But you have not obeyed My voice.’ ” Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites. And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” Gideon said to Him, “O my Lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.” Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?” So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.”

As we dive deeper into the story of Gideon, we must approach this portion of scripture with prophetic ears. Simply meaning we must look at the story of Gideon and ask ourselves, what is God saying to the church today through this portion of scripture? This whole series that we have been preaching is a prophetic word to the present-day church.

The grace and desire to encounter God.

The revelation to realize God has a higher way for me to live.

The anointing, the grace, to expose false prophets and to tear down idolatrous altars.

The anointing to gather and call out the true sons and daughters of the kingdom.

The anointing, the grace, to take a little and make much.

The anointing, the grace, to overcome mixture and to tear down doubt.

The anointing, the grace, for God’s will to happen speedily in the earth.

Previously, we told you to get ready because God is moving very fast right now. His will and His plan are happening speedily in the earth and will continue to happen speedily. From the time Gideon encountered the Lord at the winepress, it took three days for the nation to be delivered from seven years of oppression. Beloved, when God wants to move, He doesn’t ask how long you think it will take. He asks, “Are you willing to go for Me?”

Isn’t it amazing and prophetic how it took Gideon three days to free a whole nation from oppression. Because hundreds of years later the whole world would be under demonic oppression with no way out. And the only begotten Son of God would die on a cross, be laid in a tomb, and rise from the dead in three days. At the end of those three days, He would come out of that grave with keys to death, hell, and the grave! Therefore, in three days He didn’t free a nation, He freed the whole world from demonic oppression.

Not only at that time, but it’s over two thousand years later and His blood is still making the sinner free. His blood is still breaking the power of darkness. His blood is still delivering people from the hold of the devil. His blood is still restoring families and bringing prodigals home. His blood is still manifesting the victory of Jesus Christ in the earth!

Secondly, Church it is important to understand how Gideon and his 300 men defeated their enemy. If we are not careful, we can begin to think that Gideon and his men defeated their enemy by physical strength. If we are not careful, we would think that Gideon and his men defeated their enemy by some amazing battle strategy.

But when we study scripture, we find that none of these are true. Gideon and his men didn’t defeat their enemy by human strength or might. No, they defeated their enemy by FAITH AND OBEDIENCE to the word of the Lord. This is truly a time when you can say, it was not by their might, nor by their power, but by the Spirit of the Lord! This is the reason why Gideon’s name is mentioned in the Hall of Faith in Hebrews chapter 11.

Let's pray together...
