Psalms 133:1-3 NKJV
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.
I Corinthians 1:10 NKJV
Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Matthew 18:18-22 NKJV
“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”
Unity causes you to build the impossible.
Unity causes you to believe for the impossible.
Unity causes you to become the impossible.
Beloved, when the church unites it causes us to become the impossible. When the church is in unity shepherd boys become kings. When the church unites, Gideons are raised up to deliver a nation. When the church unites, Joshuas are raised up to conquer the Promised Land. When the church unites, Jehoshaphats receive strength and a word from the Lord to defeat the enemy without a sword or spear.
Unity causes you to be the body of Christ. You are not truly a part of the body if you are not united with the body. My body is united as one. There is never a time when my legs will be going one direction and my arms going another direction.
That’s why we resist the mindset and mentality that promotes armchair Christianity. We resist the mindset that promotes Bedroom Baptist and Living-room Pentecostals. We know there are people that are legitimate shut-ins. There are people from time to time that have to take care of family members and can’t come and be a part of the family. I’m not talking about those people.
Beloved, when I was born again no one had to tell me to go to church. No one had to convince me to be a part of the body of Christ. No one had to talk me into being a part of the body of Christ. Why? Because when you are born again, you are baptized into the body of Christ. You become a part of the family. That unity causes you to become the impossible. In other words, what couldn’t happen any other way has now happened because you decided to unite in the body.
