Unity: The Secret to Victory || Part 2
Unity: The Secret to Victory || Part 2 - Day 5
Psalms 133:1-3 NKJV
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.
I Corinthians 1:10 NKJV
Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Matthew 18:18-22 NKJV
“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”
Unity causes you to build the impossible.
Unity causes you to believe for the impossible.
Unity causes you to become the impossible.
Unity causes you to break the impossible.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 18:18-20, “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
If you continue to read within context here, you will find out gathering together means more than being in one place together. There is more to agreeing together than what you say. How do we know this? Because right after Jesus says whatever you bind will be bound, and whatever you loose will be loosed; right after He says, “If two of you agree concerning anything it will be done”; and right after Jesus says, “Where two or three of you are gathered together in my name there I am in the midst” - right after these things Peter asks a question that seems way out of context.
He asks Jesus, “How often am I supposed to forgive my brother who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus says, “Up to seven times seventy.” Why does Peter ask this question if there’s no more to being in agreement than what is said? Why does Peter ask this question if there’s no more to being gathered together in His name than being present? Why does Peter ask this question if there is no more to binding and loosing than what we say?
Peter asked this question because he understands there is more to binding and loosing than what is coming out of your mouth. Peter asked this question because he understands there is more to us agreeing in the Earth and receiving from heaven, than what comes out of our mouth. Peter asked this question because he understands there is more to being gathered together in His name than just being in one place.
In other words, Peter understands, if things are not right between us in the Spirit, then it doesn’t matter what we say. If things are not right between us in the Spirit, it doesn’t matter if we gather together under one roof. He understands nothing is going to happen if there’s aught between us. So, he asked the question how often do I have to forgive?
Now he understands to receive from heaven he needs someone else to agree with him. But that agreement is not in word only, it is also being in one accord. And we can’t be in one accord if I hate you and you hate me. If we do, no matter what we pray, it isn’t going to be answered. And God won’t be in our midst, if we aren’t gathered together. It doesn’t matter if we’re under one roof, we’re not gathered together unto Him because we’re separated from one another in the Spirit.
Once the church gets this right, once we get together in word, and in Spirit, we can break the impossible. We can break the chains off of your families. We can break the chains off of our cities. We can break the chains off of our nations. We can break the chains off of our marriages. We can break the chains off of our children. We can break the chains off of our finances. We can break the chains off of our ministries.
Because now, when we gather together, we are gathered unto Him. Now, when we come together to pray, we are truly coming together in agreement. And now, when we stand up and bind something in the Earth, it is truly bound in heaven. And now, when we loose something in the Earth, it is truly loosed in heaven.
Division is idolatry because we now place our demands and rights above His Word, His preeminence, and lordship.
Let’s pray together…
