Jesus The… || Part 3, Day 4

Matthew 3:11-12

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

The baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire is so we can preach the same message as Jesus.

Jesus came teaching and preaching many things. But when you look at His whole earthly ministry, you will see some common themes in His preaching and teaching.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Matthew 3:17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” 

In other words, his message was I am the only begotten Son of God.

John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Matthew 16:6 Then Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”

In other words, beware of spiritual pride.

John 15:1 I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

In other words, without abiding in Me and My word and power abiding in you, you can’t make it. That’s what happens when you get baptized with the Spirit and fire!

Church we are to preach and teach His message on the earth today. Jesus never caved to the world or the culture. He engaged it with the power of the Spirit. He never caved to the pressure of the religious system. No, He confronted it and called it out so people could be made free from it!
