It’s Time to Come UP!

Part 2 || Day 4

Haggai‬ 2‬:6‬-9‬ NKJV‬‬

“For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

Luke‬ 6‬:38‬ NKJV‬‬

“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Hebrews‬ 7‬:1‬-10‬ NKJV‬‬

For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated “king of righteousness,” and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace,” without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually. Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils. And indeed those who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to receive tithes from the people according to the law, that is, from their brethren, though they have come from the loins of Abraham; but he whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises. Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better. Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives. Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, so to speak, for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him.

The Bible tells us that we cannot serve God and mammon. Mammon is the demonic spirit that rules money and the system which money belongs to. The spirit of mammon can manifest in several ways. One, people trust in their money, or in the possessions that have. The Bible says the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. People who trust in money and possessions are bound by the spirit of mammon. That’s one of the reasons why God tells us to tithe and give offerings. Why? Because every time you give in obedience to God’s Word, you are telling the spirit of mammon you have no home here. People who trust in money and possessions will never biblically tithe and give offerings. That spirit won’t allow them to obey the Lord.

Secondly, it manifests through fear. The fear of not having enough or the fear of God not providing. This causes people to trust in themselves. They trust in their own ability to provide. Every time you tithe and give offerings you declare that you trust in the Lord as your provider. You are declaring one of His names in the earth - Jehovah Jireh! You are declaring in the earth that you trust God and you are willing to obey Him and do it His way.

Before we go any further, I want to take a moment and tear down some lies and deceptions in the body of Christ that pertain to tithing.

Lie: “Tithing is not for the New Testament believers. It was introduced under the Law and since we are no longer under the Law, we are no longer required to tithe.”

This is a deception that many in the body of Christ have given into because they needed someone to give them permission to rob God. The word tithe shows up in our Bible 400 years prior to Moses being born. Why is this important? Because Moses is the man whom God gave the Law to, so that he could introduce it to the children of Israel.

Genesis 14:18-20, “Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; And blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all.”

Let’s pray together…
