The Holy Spirit || Part 5
The Holy Spirit || Part 5
Day 2
Acts 1:4-8 NKJV
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
In John 20:22 we read, “And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’”
Many people would take this scripture and say, ‘See, they received the baptism in the Holy Spirit before the day of Pentecost. Therefore, the baptism in the Spirit and salvation is the same.” But if that's the case we have a huge problem with Luke 24:49 and we have a real big problem with Acts 1:5. Because Jesus is telling the disciples in both accounts to go into Jerusalem and wait for the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Jesus told the disciples to go and wait in Jerusalem because they had not been baptized with the Holy Spirit yet. Jesus did not want His disciples living in between the resurrection and Pentecost. He did not want them living and ministering without the power and the person of the Holy Spirit. He knew that the power and the person of the Holy Spirit was going to change everything about them.
Church, the same is true for every one of us. Jesus does not want us living in between the resurrection and Pentecost. He wants us to go into that upper room and receive the power and the person of the Holy Spirit. He wants to baptize us in the Holy Spirit and fire.
Today, some of us need a fresh baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire. We are not walking and living in that victory that we once had. We are not living in that joy, peace, and anointing that we once walked in. Today, Jesus wants to baptize you afresh and anew with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Have you received the Holy Spirit and fire since you believed?
