“Jesus The…” || Part 2, Day 4

Colossians‬ 2‬:4‬-9‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;

Colossians‬ 1‬:15‬-18‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.

John‬ 18‬:28‬-37‬ NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium, and it was early morning. But they themselves did not go into the Praetorium, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover. Pilate then went out to them and said, “What accusation do you bring against this Man?” They answered and said to him, “If He were not an evildoer, we would not have delivered Him up to you.” Then Pilate said to them, “You take Him and judge Him according to your law.” Therefore the Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,” that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled which He spoke, signifying by what death He would die. Then Pilate entered the Praetorium again, called Jesus, and said to Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” Jesus answered him, “Are you speaking for yourself about this, or did others tell you this concerning Me?” Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?” Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.” Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

Jesus the King means He gives identity to His Kingdom and its citizens.

Romans 14:17 says, “for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

Revelation 1:5-6 says, “and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever.”

Church, how is it that so many are falling away right now? How is it that we have so called worship leaders that will share the platform with satanists and wicked people? Because somewhere, someone told them it was ok to be in the kingdom and get their identity from someone other than the King.

Jesus our King didn’t come to this earth and minister for three and a half years because He didn’t have anything to do. He did it so we could have a living example of what it was like to have His identity. He didn’t give us His Spirit so we could be a better person. He gave us His Spirit so we would be new creatures. That means when we became a new creature, we received a new identity. We received the identity of our King!

When you look through the Bible, you will read things like Simon Barjona, that means Simon son of Jonah. You will read James and John the sons of Zebedee. You read Judas of Iscariot. Why are they saying these things? This is how they identified that person. They identify them by whose son they were.

When you become born again, you have a new identity. Now when your name is mentioned, in the realm of the spirit, they mention your name, and behind it, it says “son or daughter of God”. Now they mention your name, and it says “a servant of Christ”. Now when they mention your name you are identified with the King, because you have His identity.
