Mary Did You Know?: Part 1 || Day 2

Exodus 15:1-21 NLT

Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord: “I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; he has hurled both horse and rider into the sea. The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him! The Lord is a warrior; Yahweh is his name! Pharaoh’s chariots and army he has hurled into the sea. The finest of Pharaoh’s officers are drowned in the Red Sea. The deep waters gushed over them; they sank to the bottom like a stone. “Your right hand, O Lord, is glorious in power. Your right hand, O Lord, smashes the enemy. In the greatness of your majesty, you overthrow those who rise against you. You unleash your blazing fury; it consumes them like straw. At the blast of your breath, the waters piled up! The surging waters stood straight like a wall; in the heart of the sea the deep waters became hard. “The enemy boasted, ‘I will chase them and catch up with them. I will plunder them and consume them. I will flash my sword; my powerful hand will destroy them.’ But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters. “Who is like you among the gods, O Lord— glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, performing great wonders? You raised your right hand, and the earth swallowed our enemies. “With your unfailing love you lead the people you have redeemed. In your might, you guide them to your sacred home. The peoples hear and tremble; anguish grips those who live in Philistia. The leaders of Edom are terrified; the nobles of Moab tremble. All who live in Canaan melt away; terror and dread fall upon them. The power of your arm makes them lifeless as stone until your people pass by, O Lord, until the people you purchased pass by. You will bring them in and plant them on your own mountain— the place, O Lord, reserved for your own dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, that your hands have established. The Lord will reign forever and ever!” When Pharaoh’s horses, chariots, and charioteers rushed into the sea, the Lord brought the water crashing down on them. But the people of Israel had walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground! Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine and led all the women as they played their tambourines and danced. And Miriam sang this song: “Sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; he has hurled both horse and rider into the sea.”

The children of Israel had been in bondage for over 400 years. They went into Egypt to live in peace with the current pharaoh because Joseph was the second in charge of all Egypt. But once Joseph dies and the current pharaoh dies the Bible says there arose a new king over Egypt that did not know Joseph.

In other words, this new king didn’t care that Joseph had saved Egypt in a time of great famine. He didn’t care that Joseph, through his wisdom, had set Egypt up to be the modern-day superpower in the land. Therefore, he decided to put all of the children of Israel in great bondage and slavery.

This went on for a long time until the oppression became so severe that they cried out to the Lord. During this time, the current king legalized abortion on all the Hebrew male children. This is an attempt by the enemy to kill the deliverance of the Lord in seed form. Instead of killing the baby, Moses’s mom put him in a basket and floats him down the river. Everyone else leaves, but Mariam has a prophetic call on her life. She watches him at a distance because she knows this won’t be the last time I see my brother. There’s a call on his life and the prophetic gift on my life won’t allow me to leave my future.

Pharaoh’s daughter comes down to the river to bathe and finds the baby in the basket crying. She feels sorry for the baby and wants to keep him. Mariam says to the princess, “Do you want me to call someone to nurse the baby?” and she says, “Yes.” Moses’s sister goes and gets her mom and pharaoh’s daughter agrees to pay her to keep her son and nurse him.

Fast-forward 80 years and it is now time Moses to repay the favor. It is now time for Moses to deliver Mariam and the children of Israel. The oppression is so bad that the people are crying out to God for help. He sends Moses to perform signs and wonders in front of pharaoh to cause him to let the people go.

Finally, he tells them to leave, and they leave with all the wealth of Egypt. However, just when they thought everything was fine, they look back over their shoulders and here comes their longtime enemy, charging to take them out. Just when they thought all was well, their longtime enemy shows up to make the final blow on them.

God tells Moses to lift up his staff and have the people cross over on dry land. The people cross over and when the Egyptians go to cross over on the same dry land, the waters crash down on them and the Egyptians are completely wiped out. Their longtime enemy was completely defeated before their faces.

This is what causes this celebration from Mariam and all the women of Israel to break out. I gave you this whole story because I wanted you to have some context behind this prophetic word that I am giving you. I believe that the enemy is raising his head right now because he thinks the body of Christ has its back up against the Red Sea.

What he doesn’t know is that what parts for us will crash on him. The very thing that is going to be our miracle is going to be his mess! What God uses to take us into our future will be the very thing that produces his failure. Mary did you know that God is setting up the scene for your longtime enemy to be defeated? Mary did you know you are about to step into a time of celebrating the fall of your longtime enemy?

This will happen corporately as a body of Christ, and individually as children of God. If we are going to step into a time is celebrating the victory over longtime enemies that means right now, we are seeing longtime enemies fall. You ought to prophesy over your life right now and say every longtime enemy against my life will be defeated before 2022 is over. Every longtime giant that has been speaking against my life will fall before 2022 is over.
